I don't usually read books like this one but I have loved other books by this author and am following her by reading all she writes. I found myself engrossed in the story and was anxiously reading each page to see what happened next. I recommend this and every book she's written. You won't be disappointed!
4.0 out of 5 starsGreat read
I totally enjoyed this book. Once I started reading I didn't want to stop. The story pulls you in and makes you feel the pain or sorrow of the main character. I recommend this book to anyone and everyone who enjoys feeling empathy or sympathy for a character. You won't be disappointed.

5.0 out of 5 starsa demon possession story that captivates by being different!
ByJulie Blaskieon September 18, 2015

This book has a different take on demon possession from others that I had read, and I immensely enjoyed this one for its being different! Wargel has been around for millenia, and he enjoys ruining his human hosts' lives... he takes possession of sweet 8 year old Jenny... and she learns misery very quickly. However, she still believes in God and continues to pray, and she tries to find ways to thwart Wargel - even if it means walking alone and friendless... That is all I will say because I won't spoil the story for you!

I loved this story because we have Jenny... she doesn't fall into total despair despite all that happens to her. Though she has a demon possessing her, she is still the basically good person she had always been. We are taken through a journey of a girl who tries to live quietly so as to keep others safe. She dares not make friends, she dares not to even contemplate the idea of love... We cheer for Jenny's small triumphs, and we bitterly hate Wargel for his delight in punishing her! True to Ms Davis' form, there are twists and turns... and I LOVED the ending!!!

It is a story of good versus evil... a story of perseverence... and... a tale with a small ray of hope that doesn't die! This is the kind of story I like to read because of the tale it weaves and the ideals we believe in... This is a story that you won't be ble to put down once you start because you care about Jenny and want to know how she fares! I bought tbis book because I liked the premise... I will reread this book because of Jenny and her story! All I can say is READ it!

At first it was a slow go, then it really took off. The way that Jenny fought the evil was great. Once I got into the book it was hard to put down. Can't wait to read more of these books
I received a copy of this book free in exchange for an honest review.

A well written story about the power of evil and one young women's attempt to overcome it. I wasn't too sure if I was going to like the story when I started this book, but I found it enticing to read. Even has a surprise ending!

4.0 out of 5 starsI really enjoyed reading this book and I'm looking forward to more ...

I received this book as a gift in exchange for an honest review. I really enjoyed reading this book and I'm looking forward to more of this author. This poor girl fighting every day with a demon that noone can see or hear and living life with everyone believing she is insane - afraid to like or love anyone because she knows th demon will harm them or kill them. A slightly different take on demon stories and I believe that you will find it worth reading if you enjoy these types of books.

Costumer Reviews:

Between the depths of Hell, and the purity of Heaven, lies the earth, and mortal life. God as Creator rejected five demons at the beginning of time, and sent them to Lucifer, to be his children. In the Indwelt series, mortal life is a premium, but mortals themselves are merely vessels for a demon's pleasure. Wargel, the capricious, bloodtthirsty youngest child of Satan, has escaped the portals of hell, seeking a host for his presence. Jenny McArthur, eight years old and innocent, is a child the demon chooses for his own. He enters her mind through the portal of her left eye, and inflicts himself upon her for twenty years, creating havoc in the world and on Jenny. What happens to her, and her family, is tragic. Whenever darkness falls, it pushes light into a hidden corner, but cannot extinguish it. This is true of Jenny McArthur, who comes to believe her life is worth something, and her soul cannot be taken away by the presence of evil. In this first book of the Indwelt series, Jenny is someone near the edge of reality who is constantly surprised by supernatural forces of both good and evil.
